March Calendar Now Posted

The "Home Learning Suggestions" calendar for the month of March can now be found on the right-hand side of the blog under the header "Monthly Calendars".  In addition to being posted on the blog, a hard copy is being sent home.

Winter Carnival Rescheduled

The Winter Carnival that was cancelled Wednesday due to the Snow Day has been rescheduled for Friday, February 22nd!  Remember to have your child dress for the weather, as he/she will be outside for most of the morning.

First Reconciliation

This is a friendly reminder that the Retreat for First Reconciliation takes place on Saturday, March 2nd from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Fallowfield Church.  First Reconciliation will take place on Tuesday, March 26th at 6:30 p.m. Students must complete First Reconciliation in order to participate in First Communion in April.

Report Cards

Report cards went home today.  I am so proud of all the hard work and progress that has been made by each student since September!  Please take a moment to celebrate this with your child.  Also, please sign and return the bottom portion of the last page, as well as the envelope, by Thursday, February 21st.

National Sweater Day

We will be turning down the heat on Thursday, February 7th.

Remember to wear your favourite sweater to stay nice and warm!

Litterless Lunches

Starting this week we are encouraging students to bring a litterless lunch to school every Wednesday!

Humane Society Visit

On Tuesday, February 12th, the Ottawa Humane Society will be coming to all Grade 2 classes to do a presentation.  Students will learn how to safely approach a dog and explore bite-prevention tips.  As part of their presentation, the Ottawa Humane Society will be bringing a dog into our classroom.  Please let us know if your child has any allergies or fears, or if you have any concerns.
