If your child comes home with their blue "Unfinished Work" folder on a Friday, please have them complete their work over the weekend and return it in the folder the following Monday.

Pokemon Cards to be Left at Home

Due to increasing problems at recess with Pokemon cards, the decision has been made that all Pokemon cards are to be left at home.  Thank you for your support in this matter.

Let's Celebrate Making Mistakes!

Today we had a great class discussion about the importance of making mistakes and being able to learn from our mistakes. We watched this short video - from a Growth Mindset series - to reinforce the concept.

Home Learning Suggestions

Beginning in October, a monthly calendar will be sent home with students that include daily "Home Learning Suggestions". The activities listed on the calendar support the thinking and skills that are being developed in the classroom on a daily basis. The calendar is not expected to be handed in at the end of the month. Its purpose is to provide students with additional opportunities to further develop their skills at home. In addition, students are encouraged to read daily.

Additional Supplies

A big thank you for all of the school supplies that were sent in at the beginning of September!  I have had a few parents ask me if there is anything else we could use.  Being that we are in a portable, I would welcome any donations of either hand sanitizer or baby wipes/wet ones.  Thank you again for your support!

Allergies

When packing your child's lunch, please keep in mind that we have students in our classroom with severe allergies and avoid sending in the following:

- pecans

- peanuts

- nuts

- eggs

- fish

- shellfish

Sale Starts: Sept. 14

Mid-Sale Turn in: Sept. 21

Sale Ends: Sept. 28

Price: $35 each

Reminder: The book that went home is NOT a free book. If you do not sell your book, you are responsible for returning it by the Sale End Date.

Additional orders will be filled within 2 weeks of the Sale End Date.

Simple Machines: Show and Share

To begin our Science unit on Simple Machines we are asking students to bring in a picture or model of an object that can move by Monday, September 19th.  They will share with the class what the machine is called, what it does, and how it moves.  Look for a blue sheet of paper with more info being sent home today.

Extra Clothes

If you have not already done so, please send in an extra set of clothes for your child to keep in their bin in the cubby area.  It would be helpful for the clothes to be placed in a large ziplock bag with your son/daughter's name on it.  Thank you!
